What is Consolidation in logistics?
Consolidation is the process where a carrier or a shipping company combines several smaller shipments into one full container.
Ideally, consolidation favors both the carrier and the shipper. In the case of the carrier, it helps to reduce the cost of shipment and to make delivery of goods quicker. And for the shipper with smaller shipment, he would not need to pay for a full container shipment.
Freight Consolidation or shipping consolidation services refer to a cargo shipping method in which a logistics company to combine several individual consignments to make up one shipment. This arrangement allows the goods to be shipped at cheaper rates and offers greater security.
Fortunately for Segems, we are partner with Swiftly Global who provides this service. This service is provided to shippers/importers who are shipping from Africa and specifically from Ghana to the United States.

Consolidated shipping allows shippers to earn preferred rates and helps optimize supply chain logistics by saving time and reducing cost. Consolidated shipping is ideal for someone that might only have a few pallets of freight or smaller shipments they need packaged and shipped in one container

Warehousing
Segems warehouse is located on 5213 Grays Avenue in Philadelphia in the 19143 zip code area in Southwest Philadelphia. We are ideally located to handle the service that we rendered because it is a commercial zone and the warehouse is fully equipped with loading docks and service ramp.
Like we said, in our partnership with Swiftly Global, this is where we take over when the container gets to the United States, we truck the container to Philadelphia to our warehouse and off load the container.
Customers are informed about their arrival of their shipments and they in turn can come to pick them up or make arrangements with freight consolidation through Swiftly Global
Freight consolidation is a logistics strategy where a shipper combines multiple shipments within a particular geographic region into a single shipment container that is then line hauled to a destination point where the smaller shipments that were part of the consolidation are broken down and shipped to their final destination or the single shipment is delivered directly through to final destination.
Prep Center & Trucking
Segems Prep Center is located at the same address as the warehouse on 5213 Grays Ave, in Southwest Philadelphia. We are at the moment only doing prep for Segems and we have not started to take in outside job for prepping products for online sale channels such as Amazon, Walmart, Shopify and Etsy.
When we are ready to offer this service to the general public we will make the announcement
For trucking we are looking at the possibility of offering the consolidating freight service for the Tri-State or commonwealth area including up to Maryland and New York. We are still studying the possibility and doing the feasibility study.
